Sorbic Acid

Sorbic acid, or 2,4-hexadienoic acid, is a natural organic compound used as a food preservative. It has the chemical formula C6H8O2. Sorbic acid is a colourless solid that is slightly soluble in water and sublimes readily. Sorbic acid was first isolated from the unripe berries of Rowan (Sorbus aucuparia), hence its name.

Uses: Sorbic acid is used for food,cosmetic,medical health product and anti-mortify for tobacco.As Unsaturated acid, it also used as resin,aromatics and rubber industry.
